ナショナルジオグラフィック協会が掲げる目標と目的、そして助成金の機会について紹介します。続いて、アジアを拠点とするナショナルジオグラフィックの探検家たちが、科学、保全、技術、教育、ストーリーテリングの分野での活動を紹介します。また、COVID-19パンデミックによって生活や仕事がどのような影響を受けたのか、ニューノーマルやポストコロナの世界がどのように見えるのかについて議論します。

This session will introduce the objectives, work and history of the National Geographic Society. It will also provide an overview of current funding opportunities – including for applicants from or in Japan.
After that, National Geographic Explorers from the Asia-Pacific region will introduce the challenges that they are working on. In addition, they will talk about the importance of science communication and share successful examples and experiences of using science communication approaches in order to drive change or impact. During the panel discussion, Explorers will talk about the different audiences that are relevant to their work and the different channels for communication (e.g. social media, press release, public event etc.). After that, the audience will have the opportunity to interact with all of the presenters and ask questions.
